History:
Stark Enterprises commenced development in Westlake, Ohio with the construction of The Promenade, a 250,000 square foot specialty strip center that boasts a well-appointed mix of national and local retailers, grocery, fast casual dining, specialty stores and personal service retailers. Since its inception in the late 90’s, The Promenade has been ahead of its time in terms of landscaping elements and placemaking details.
As the city of Westlake matured, so did Stark’s plans for Crocker Park – an expansive development adjacent to The Promenade. Crocker Park’s first phase opened in the fall of 2004. Since then, the property has undergone several expansions to its current footprint which spans over 120 acres and 20 city blocks of premier shopping, dining, interactive experiences, and events attracting nearly 20 million visitors per year.
Crocker Park’s grid street plan is infused with every element of a bustling urban downtown – vertical integration of ground-level retail and second-story apartments and offices, authentic streetscapes, metered street parking, bus line access to the city’s rapid transit system, valet parking services, digital advertising screens, award-winning gardens and more. The buildings vary in architecture and design so that no two are exactly the same. There are hints of European influence throughout and particular attention was paid to building scale, so visitors feel immersed in the environment.
