The Dan Davis Group is a jazz organ trio featuring Doug Largent – Hammond organ, Kevin Van Sant – guitar, and Dan Davis on drums. The band performs a range of styles from the organ trio tradition which include jazz, funk, Latin, New Orleans, R&B, and soul-jazz. The art and joy of improvisation is the primary focus of the group’s performances. The band’s Influences range from Jimmy Smith, Miles Davis, Joey DeFrancesco, and the Meters to Duke Ellington, Larry Goldings, The Tony Williams Lifetime, and the Great American Songbook.
